After joining the EU, the Slovak labour market opened up – a poor economic situation and lack of work forced people to work abroad. Around 23,000 Slovak nannies work in Austria alone. Jar Vojtek's new documentary follows three stories: a nanny in Austria, a truck driver, and a gang of workers. They all go to work far from home: living on the road, in hostels, and in other people's homes. By so doing they strive to support their families, even though those families are becoming distant due to their absence abroad.
