Reporter Winkel was assigned in the fall of 1980 to cover the workers' strike at the Gdańsk Shipyard. His main focus was to be Maciek Tomczyk, one of the strike's leaders. As he delves deeper into the story, he realizes that his superiors intend to discredit Tomczyk. However, as he uncovers the truth, Winkel gradually comes to believe in the legitimacy of the strikers' demands.

The screening of Polish films within the SOLIDARITY ON SCREEN section is organized in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the international cultural program of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2025.
