A tale of and two gunshots and several deaths – literal and metaphorical – told in a unique, retro, Eastern European neo-noir style, La Palisiada examines the wide-ranging ramifications of the murder of a police officer in Ukraine in the significant year 1996. The film’s unique visual style was created using a range of celluloid and digital techniques, including a retro video camera, the last surviving cassettes. Winner of the FIPRESCI Award 2023 at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
