Vladimír Morávekʼs feature length poetic film is loosely inspired by the legendary theatrical play about Nikola Šuhaj - the famous Carpathian bandit and hero. A burnt out group of Brno intellectuals goes to Kolochava in Ukraine to stage a play, but they fail on every level. They arrive late, the Ukrainians expect something completely different, and the South Czech Philharmonic goes missing somewhere in the Subcarpathian Rus. The film draws in viewers through its pure energy of altering images and motives.
