TV executive Max Renn is ravenous for shocking content. One day he finds Videodrome – a program full of sex and violence. As he delves into where and how the mysterious content is created, he becomes part of it – the boundaries between broadcasting and reality blurring. Cronenberg brings an original take on how the media portrays violence, and its impact on human behaviour. Although made in the analogue 1980s, the film remains relevant. We present the film in a restored 4K version for the premiere’s 40th anniversary.
